It’s one thing to claim a theme is fast — it’s another to see the numbers. A common pattern reported by site owners who migrate to GeneratePress from heavier themes is a dramatic drop in page weight and load time.
What typically changes
- Total page size drops significantly once bloated theme CSS/JS is removed
- Time to First Byte and Largest Contentful Paint both improve
- Core Web Vitals scores move from “needs improvement” into the “good” range
Faster sites don’t just rank better — they convert better too. Every extra second of load time is a chance for a visitor to leave before your content ever loads.
If your current theme feels sluggish, a lightweight foundation like GeneratePress is often the single highest-leverage change you can make.
